Our Journey

The Beginning

Chepkorio Fresh Producers was founded by Maria Kimani, a former agricultural extension officer who saw the potential in connecting local farmers with international markets. Starting with just 15 farmers growing chillis, the cooperative began its journey.

Expansion & Growth

After securing our first international contract, we expanded to include avocado farming. The cooperative grew to 75 farmers, and we built our first processing facility to ensure quality control and proper handling of produce.

Organic Certification

We achieved organic certification for our products, formalizing the traditional farming practices that had been used for generations. This opened new markets and increased the value of our produce, benefiting the entire community.

Today & Beyond

Today, Chepkorio Fresh Producers works with over 200 farmers across the region, primarily women, and has expanded into value-added products like avocado oil and dried chillis. We continue to grow while staying true to our founding principles of sustainability, fair trade, and community support.
